    Default My Deck Project

I bought a house a year ago and wanted to put a deck on. My wife was (and still is) paranoid about me doing it. So below are some pictures to show the progress.

sure thing. I think you're trying to hard on the footings. But all looks good. What kind of main beam are you going to use. Drop or flush. You may not have enough room for a drop down beam.

I used double 2x12's as beam. Beam sits directly on footings(using simpson postst anchors).

Deck is only 24" above grade (approx) so main support beam (Double-2x12) will sit directly on top of cement footing using galvanized simpson post anchors. Thats why i was trying so hard on footings to make sure they are all level.

Looks good, BUT. Yea we have a but. You use the joist hangers on the wrong end. You must install the joist hangers on the house side (ledger). You also used 1 1/2 decking, that's OK but we all use 5/4 decking boards now. Other than that it's looking good.

    Footings look good too.

Joist hangers were used on both sides.

I was just wondering, how did you make out. Are you all done now ?
